Giancarlo Busato is the third generation of printers in his family. Located in a sixteenth-century building in the historic centre of Vicenza, the Busato print workshop was founded by his grandfather in 1946. The workshop has always been a point of reference for international artists, from the great twentieth-century masters to contemporary illustrators, who enjoy working with the printers on their creations. Images are printed using a wide variety of hand-printing techniques, including drypoint, soft-ground etching, burin engraving and mezzotint. Giancarlo likes to describe himself as a ‘wandering printer’, as his passion for his job has led him to travel far and wide on his quest to share his knowledge, working on projects with countless organisations and institutions all over the world.
