“Biviere” is the name of a lake of great historical importance, whose very ancient origin is traced back to Greek mythology. Until the 1930s the lake, which is very fishy, was very important for the economy of all the surrounding districts and was rich in lake flora and fauna. Land reclamation works, which began in the Fascist era, ended in the 1950s.
It was during those years that the Biviere became the home of the Borghese Princes, Scipione and Maria Carla, who decided to transform with love and passion these ancient family possessions into an exotic Mediterranean garden and began planting the first citrus groves.
Today, new energies are shaping the Biviere. Giangiacomo and Virginia have given birth to a dream that embraces nature, healthy eating, ecology and a harmonious lifestyle that awaits all who wish to become part of it!
Guided and experiential tours of the Garden and the Organic and Biodynamic Farm “Il Biviere” are offered.
The Biviere Garden is a magical place full of charm, rich in botanical species from all over the world. Visitors lose themselves in a timeless place of intoxicating colors and scents, where Nature is at its most splendid.
