From San Feliciano, a seasonal ferry can be taken to the largest island in the lake, 1.5 km long. Abandoned by the fishing community and Olivetan monks who had colonised it in the 13th century, the island was purchased in the mid-19th century by the Counts Panciani of Spoleto to use as a farm and hunting reserve. It changed hands several times and was turned into a park in the 1960s. Since the Province of Perugia bought it in 1974, it has been transformed into a nature protection oasis. There are numerous remains of churches built by the various religious orders that settled in this area. The former convent of S. Secondo, of which the 15th-century crypt and refectory remain.
All that remains of the old medieval village is the 14th century castle and the nearby church of S. Giuliano, built on the ruins of a Roman villa.
