Established in 1987, the Fondazione Musica Insieme Bologna is one of the major Italian concert societies. The concert season, now in its XXXIII edition, has established itself as one of the chamber music festivals with the largest number of associated members in Italy due to the quality of the musicians and the artistic choices. His programs have always combined main performers (from Pollini to Sollima, Kissin, Lupu, Maisky, Zimerman, Gutman, Wang) with the debuts of new talents appearing for the first time on international stages. In its commitment for the dissemination of classical music to the general public, Musica Insieme is the creator of highly innovative festivals, such as: MIA – Musica Insieme in Ateneo, organized since 1997 in collaboration with the University of Bologna and intended for students; Invito alla Musica, dedicated to the municipalities of the area, with a free bus service to and from the Manzoni Auditorium; Musica per le Scuole, a series of concerts for high school students; and MICO – Musica Insieme COntemporanea, since 2006 a showcase of the musical experiences of today, with world and Italian premiere performances. Starting from 2017, the offer of Musica Insieme aimed at students is enriched by the Che musica, ragazzi! initiative, a series of dedicated meetings offered free of charge to hundreds of primary and middle school pupils during school hours, focused on the discovery of listening together and direct involvement.
