Address: gradoni della Lama, 84100, Salerno
We recommend checking for updates regarding openings on the Italian Touring Club website
In the heart of medieval Salerno, this small basilica-an open place thanks to the welcome of Volunteer Members of the Italian Touring Club-looks out with an essential front: rectangular portal, two single-light ogive windows and an oculus. Of great historical, artistic and chronological interest are the two cycles of frescoes: the oldest, to be connected with the Lombard foundation and located in the crypt, immortalizes a theory of saints framed in two-color bands (10th and 11th centuries). The other was developed between the 13th and 15th centuries, both in the crypt and in the upper church.
