Dezen Dezen is Marco and Michele’s artisanal textile printing and decoration workshop in the center of Trieste.
The project was born in 2014, with the intention of recovering an important tradition, that of printing scarves with traditional Eastern European motifs, starting from Marco’s family business, founded in 1938. At the beginning of the 1990s, due to the war in the former Yugoslavia, the business lost a large part of its market. Thus, hundreds of silk-screen paintings used for the printing of scarves remained unused for decades.
Marco and Michele then, to preserve and enhance this precious heritage, decide to give new life to the company: the decorations of the traditional scarves have been recovered and are now used by the two craftsmen to create contemporary clothing and accessories.
The designs are hand-printed in small runs, using the original silk-screen paintings, fabrics in natural fibers and high-quality inks, with particular attention to the environment and sustainability.
