The park is open to the public every day during daylight hours.
The museum occupies the rooms located on the second floor of Villa de Brandis, built between 1718 and 1724 and donated, with all its furnishings, to the Municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone by Countess Caterina de Brandis, the last descendant of the noble family.
Villa de Brandis preserves important art collections such as the Quadreria, with paintings between the 14th and 20th centuries, and a conspicuous number of original wooden furnishings and interesting ornaments (16th-19th centuries). The family library (about six thousand volumes published between 1501 and 1980), the photographic archive and the papers of the aristocratic archives are located at the Civic Library, adjacent to the rooms where the museum is located.
At the back of Villa de Brandis lies a centuries-old park, designed according to the English park concept, with magnolias, palms, beech, hornbeam, cedar, linden, large tuje and a charming central pond.
