A stone’s throw from Etna, on lava outcrops and remnants of lava flows, for about 3 hectares stretches Paternò del Toscano Park, a special terraced rock garden designed by landscape architect Ettore Paternò. The manor house was built in the 1950s at the highest point of the property.
The park consists of citrus groves and vineyards, characteristic of the Sicilian landscape, and the garden proper, composed of Mediterranean and exotic plants from around the world.
Picnics under the oaks in the Etna woods and breakfasts or snacks in the park are organized upon request. In addition, gardening and plant propagation courses are organized.
