Staffolo is a village certified by the Italian Touring Club with the Orange Flag. Called the “balcony of Vallesina” for its unparalleled views, it is situated on a hill in an intermediate position between the Adriatic Sea and the mountains. On the city walls that retain their original appearance, the semicircular tower known as the Albornoz (14th century) stands out. Of note are the parish church of St. Egidio and the church of St. Francis, which contain numerous valuable works. In some rooms obtained from the city walls, is housed the Museum of Wine and Peasant Art with adjoining Enoteca, where you can taste and buy the best wines produced in the area, among which the most typical is Verdicchio. The wine has earned the town the name “Hill of Verdicchio” and is the focus of many events.
