Nestled among the hills, just 7 km from the city of Lucca, the historic complex of Villa Grabau offers travelers suggestions of an unchanged time, from the moment they enter the inviting driveway. The Villa, fully furnished with period furniture and paintings, is surrounded by a 9-hectare botanical park, divided into several architectural gardens and rich in centuries-old trees and true tree rarities.
Stroll through the garden and you will discover the Limonaia, an imposing and majestic greenhouse for lemons dating back to the 1600s, and the Teatrino di Verzura, set in a garden with boxwood wings that create a cosy and romantic atmosphere.
Strategically located with respect to Lucca and still within the Park, three charming residences are hidden: the “Casa di Annadora,” the “Casa di Orazio” and the “Stalletta”
Visiting information
The Park and Villa can be visited – for a fee – year-round and without reservations. The visit to the Park is free with the help of a paper map, the visit inside the Villa is accompanied. Duration of the complete visit (Park and Villa) about 45 minutes.
